june 1st i took a bus down to champagne to see my bff lisa v! it was quite a journey. my mom dropped me off at the bus station in st.louis. the bus was a little bit late but it wasnt a big deal. when i got on the bus i sat next to this dude yen and got settled in. yen was pretty cool, he goes to art school in kansas city and said he was just traveling this summer. he was tellin me about this art project where he was folding 40,000 paper airplanes. craziness we talked about philosophy and art and all that good stuff. he had this book called the alchemist that he had stolen from a barnes and noble in kansas city and had just finished reading so he gave it to me when he was done. i havent started reading it yet but it looks like a good book.
when i got to champagne lisa met me at the bus station and we had to walk a few blocks to the apartment. i had to use the little boys room really bad so we stopped at pickles so i could take a whiz. there was a pictures of james dean right near the bathroom. when we got to the apartment i met lisa's boyfriend chad and their roommate sam. we all hit it off pretty well. lisa and chad had to work the first night i was there, so i hung out with them at JIMMY JOHNS all night and scoped out all the hot drunk chicks stumbling around. we rocked out to jimmi hendrix and the doors all night, a few of chad and lisa's favorite bands. i also talked to a couple homeless people that smelled really bad. they were all deranged and shit, i kinda just wanted to kick them in the nads and say uhhh like shut up, but i was trying to be on good behavior. lisa and chad closed right when it was getting light out and we kicked it up at ihop for a bit. after that we went home and relaxed and all hung out.
next day i woke up and was walkin around when sam saw me and said somethin about my bathing ape shirt. we hung out a lot after that. hes a pretty cool dude. which is funny, cause hes black, and im racist, but we became pretty good friends. we even rapped together and made a little movie of it. its pretty dope. after everybody woke up me and lisa walked chad to work and got some pizza and went to an art place with funny action figures and stuff. they had "obsessive compulsive guy" and "male nurse" and all this dopey stuff. crazy place. that night me and sam decided to have a night on the town, bein friday night and all, so we went in town to clayborne (a club) but i couldnt get in cause they have a 19+ thing there, so we canceled that plan and went back to the apartment to hang out. we had a fuckin blast, but i cant go into details cause we took a vow of silence lisa was hangin out with chad who was workin at jimmy johns but she came back a little later on and hung out with us. we had a good time. i fell asleep talking to my girlfriend on the phone, i had been missing her a lot, turns out she was actually sleep talking!
when i woke up i quickly realized my cell phone had died thus the alarm didnt wake me up, and i had missed my bus. fortunatly there was another bus, but it didnt arrive in stl till after midnight. before i left sam gave me his old jimmy johns hat and we exchanged numbers and stuff so we can hang out. he comes to st.louis a lot, being from here and all. lisa walked me to the bus stop, and we said our goodbyes, i got on the bus and rolled out of there. the trip back was a lot different cause it was at night. we also had to stop a lot which was lame. but we got to st.louis right on time and my mom picked me up. all in all id say it was a pretty cool little adventure. chad was awesome. he rides a skateboard to work and listens to good music. my black friend sam is DOPE! they both went along with all my bits and we had lots of good laughs. of course it was really great seeing lisa again. shes doin really well and im doin really well and everythings great with both of us. weve been friends for a loooooong time and most of its been pretty rough. its nice things are goin well for us for a change. i miss everybody down there, its almost like i started a life and then left it, but it feels good to be back home.
